This famous temple had started off in the year 1954 as a shrine for a local warrior. The shrine was constructed by members of the Malaysian army. At the same time, Hindu army personnel decided to construct a statue for Lord Anjaneyar at that shrine. At that point of time, the shrine was located by the side of a mountain, and was surrounded by dense jungle. Due to remoteness of the area, there was no supply of water and electricity. Devotees who had come to pray at the shrine would return before sunset, as it was dangerous to travel through the jungle at night.
The distinctive feature in this temple is that the statue of Lord Anjaneyar had turned his direction, facing the Straits of Malacca. Lord Anjaneyar’s statue is believed to be looking in the direction of Sri Lanka. The reason Lord Anjaneyar had turned his head was due to the slaughter that was occurring in the shrine. Meat offerings together with intoxicating liquors were being served to other deities in the shrine, and this offended Lord Anjaneyar. This took place in the year 1996, and was recorded by a foreign photographer. The photographer had earlier taken photos of the shrine, and went again to the shrine to take additional photos. He was stunned at the change of Lord Anjaneyar’s head and immediately informed the local dailies. The practice of slaughtering poultry, serving alcohol, séances at the shrine was stopped, and the presence of Lord Anjaneyar has grown stronger.
The presence of Lord Anjaneyar is very much a vocal point in this powerful temple. Several devotees have seen an apparition of Lord Hanuman meditating in this temple. He was attired in a white veshti, had long hair and a muscular body. Once, a devotee from Port Dickson had come to pray at the temple during Hanuman Jayanthi. He suddenly became ecstatic to witness Lord Anjaneyar flying above the temple. Lord Hanuman was soaring in circles above the temple and was armed with a mace. This indicates that the presence of Lord Hanuman is ever in attendance in this place of worship.

Only recently i got the idea of documenting all the temples i come across.Anyway, good research u r doing... :)
Proud to say tht im a fan of ur work:)
Hi,
Very good research! I'm planning to visit KL / port dickson next this coming week. Can you suggest any powerful temple that is very accurate and strong to pray to for fortune luck? I have been pretty down on my luck. Needing a place to reverse my luck. Thanks.
Hi Michelle,
Perhaps you should start by praying at the Court Hill Ganesar temple at Pudu. Offer some milk, flowers and fruits and tell Lord Ganesar your problem. Also break a coconut at the temple to remove your obstacles. Also prayers should be done on a long term basis for a permanent solution.
Thanks Kumaresh! I will seek your advice. Pray that god will answer my problems. Thanks.
Hi
I just read this page yesterday...well it seems extra ordinary..don't you think someone would have moved the statue and created a huge story...is there any sort of prove stating the statue moved itself and was not done by someone...
Samy
Dear Samy,
It's anyone guess whay actually happened in the temple. But the fact of the matter is that a journalist had photographic evidence that the structure of Lord Hanuman remained intact, and that his face had turned.
Well is the photographer a genuine person and is he a hindu guy.Well the reason I am asking such questions is because I came across many rumours and myths in India and around the world where people were caught creating stories to increase popularity of the temple.
Samy
From the interview I had with the temple priest, he mentioned that the photographer was a foreigner who was on holiday with his family. And I do agree that there are many stories created to attract devotees to the temple. But you cannot discount the presence of divinity in a temple.
Totally agree with you on that.I am not ignoring or disbelieving the divine power of the temple. To be honest with you,I am the photographer you are talking about.I didn't come there with my family.I came there with my friends from New Zealand.I spoke to the temple priest about it but never mentioned anything about the statue being moved. He was the one who told me it happened the previous night. He had a dream and the following morning the statue was facing a different direction. He asked me for a photograph and I gave it to him.I am now back in Dubai for business and that's the reason I posted a message on this blog.
So please inform the temple priest not to spread any wrong information.
Samy
Dear Samy,
The source of information is from the temple priest. If you wish any alteration to the story, please contact the priest, 0123515359 (Venkatesan Gurukal), 0123575616 (Temple Chairman. Thanks.
Greetings.Aprreciate the info.
Does anyone know of any temples where the gurukkal can check for charms n remove it?
Dear Shiv,
I would not want to recommend any priest that removes charms or black magic. I do however recommend reciting Skanda Shasthi kavacam or Hanuman chalisa daily. Also you should visit the temple of your ishta deivam weekly, and perform prayers. That might alleviate the problem.
where can i see the pictures of Hanuman statue before it turns?
Please communicate with the priest of the temple.
hi guys....
i heard tat there is a secret tunnel in this temple tat connects the a famosa building... is it true..
hello bro's...am very glad to hear about this very powerful temple...

Thanks Tina, please inform me of any spiritually uplifting temple in Malaysia.
How do I get to this temple? Is there any signboards showing me way to the temple? Is it near any land mark?
Mr.Kumaresh,
I totally agree with u that this temple is immensely blessed. One can feel Lord Anjenayar divine presence. Those who have faith in him will soon find themselves communicating with the Lord himself.
I wish all practicing Hindus good luck with their journey towards Gods kingdom. God Bless!

Jai Bhajaranga bali Excellent Excellent Excellent
There will be a peace once you have done the prayers here.I never experienced such a beautiful feelings..
There was another interesting story about the change of direction in which the Hanuman statue faces. According to a local guy, Hanuman used to face North West towards Port Dickson town. However just prior to the Aceh earthquake/tsunami of Boxing Day 2004, Hanuman turned South west towards the Straits of Malacca.
Phone number to be contacted at the temple
I dont know bout tunnel to Afamosa... but there are tunnels from within that area... its an army depot that housed a garison from 1933. A basic training centre. It had a few tunnels from the garison towards the beach as an escape route... but its all ruined and colapsed.
Hi, would love to pay a visit to temple for prayers. May we know the operating hours of the temple please?
