This temple is situated on Victoria Hill in Seremban, built over 100 years ago and is one of the few Kaniamman temple in Malaysia. The scenic view of this temple is breathtaking, which is surrounded by flora and fauna. Although the temple does not have an easy access route, it is definitely worth the journey. The seven kanni devi’s are Biramme, Mageswary, Gaumaree, Varaagi, Vyshnavi, Magenthari and Chamundee. Before the temple was built, Victoria hill was a primary source of silica stones, and was mined by a Chinese contractor. The contractor primarily used explosives to mine Victoria hill. On one occasion, he repeatedly tried to blast explosives but it failed. Immediately he saw a snake slithering past him. The stunned contractor took a gun and shot the snake. Soon after, the contractor and his workers fell ill. After consulting a spiritual medium, the contractor was informed that he had done injustice by mining on the hill. The sacred hill was the dwelling of Nagamma, who frequented the hill in the form of young snakes and maiden ladies. To repent this injustice, the contractor was instructed by the medium to carry out prayers for Nagamma at Victoria hill. During the prayer, a man got into a trance and started moving like a snake. He slithered across the ground to a particular location. He then advised the contractor to build a temple for Nagamma at that location. Under that mystical command, the Nagamma temple was built.
Over the years, many devotees of this temple have witnessed the amazing sakthi of Nagamma. Once, an ice-cream vendor was selling popsicles at the premise of the temple. Once he was done, he returned home without praying at the temple. On his was down from the hill, he came across two beautiful ladies clad in a sari. The ladies halted the ice-cream vendor and asked for popsicles. After serving them, the ice-cream vendor arrived home. Upon his arrival, he became ill. His family took him to a bomoh. After several séances, the bomoh told him to pray at the Nagamma temple, and he would be cured. The ice-cream vendor went to the temple and prayed for his recovery. As he finished his prayers, he was stunned to see his beautiful lady customers in the form of a statue. The mystical customers who appeared before him were goddess Chamundee and Magenthari.
The most important date in this temple is May 1st, whereby a special pooja is conducted annually. Devotees of Nagamma, fast for three days and carry pots filled with milk from the foothill to the hill top. When the devotees arrive at the temple, the milk is poured onto the seven Kanni Devi’s. Nagamma gives her blessing during this festive occasion, and this has been witnessed by several devotees. Once during this annual festival, the priest of this temple witnessed a beautiful cobra resting beneath a tree near the temple. Astonishingly, the cobra was in seven different colours. As he was stunned by this miraculous incident, the priest called other devotees to witness this mystical event. After receiving the blessings of Nagamma, the priest returned to the temple. He was shocked to see that the seven shades of the cobra was the exact colour of each sari on the seven Kanni Devi’s.

I added ur blog link in my site : http://srimatam.ning.com/
Congrats bro.. keep it up.. :)
I recently went to this temple, and yes it was beautiful indeed, loved the deities there and the view. (I had some preference towards Varahi)
The priest is a very friendly person and he shared many of his experiences with us.
It was a well rewarding trip.
I went to this temple with my mother in 1996-1998! I witnessed some unbelieveable incidents. Its a miracle...! Really happening! Wish I could go again!
Vanakkam Varahi,
Please do visit the temple again. The temple needs as much support as possible as the owner of the land is intending to evict the temple. Hopefully man and deity can co-exist peacefully, instead of fighting over land rights.
Vanakam Kumaresh,
Is the temple registered? Please update to me the inner details about the land where the temple located? Maybe I can try to work on with the authority!
Vanakkam Varahi,
Please contact Mr.Rajendran at 0196209259. He is in the temple committee and would appreciate any help rendered. Thank you.
Vanakam...
Suprised to see Makkal Osai Tamil daily today...
There is another same temple of 7 angel's in Tanjung Rambutan! Did u aware?
Vanakkam Varahi,
If you any info on this temple, please share it. Thanks.
Vanakam... Only today i knew about it and wish someone could tell more about the temple. Planning to visit as soon as possible. Will update.
If anyone has better directions to this temple, or has a Google map, please share this information. Thanks.
Thank u very much for the direction to kanni koil. As a newly married couple we are eager to visit and get blessings from as many temples as possible for a happy life ahead. Though my husband and I never been to Seremban before we managed to reach the kanni koil and it was a worthwhile journey from Serdang to Seremban up to the Victoria hill Kanni koil.A beautiful and mystical temple indeed.Thank you and keep up the good work.
hi there, just want to highlight some errors in ur blog....and would like to share my experience with u guys :)
these saptha kanni's are also known as saptha matrakas ( 7 divine mothers ).....though they are famous in south indian shaivaite worship, they do have few temples here in malaysia, and one of them is,as you mentioned,on victoria hills...
the errors which i would highlight is the pronunciation of the names....
its actually varahi, kaumari, chamundi, vaishnavi, indrani ( mahendri ),maheswari and brahmi.......
each of these shakti's represent few sectors in maha meru chakra, and not to forget, each of them are consorts of a god....
which is...
varahi - lord yama
vaishnavi - lord vishnu
kaumari - lord skanda
brahmi - lord brahma
chamundi - lord chandiswarar
maheswari - lord shiva
indrani - lord indra
they are also known to be the 7 maidens who serve Goddess Lalitha Tripurasundari,as she is the ruling goddess over the mahameru chakra....
about me,i reside in seremban, and it has been years since the last i went to this temple....if you are from seremban, you will surely know the problem faced by the temple....the original land owner, zaiton industries has sold the land to RB Land holdings
and after few legal notices,mr rajendran a.k.a the temple president, started to collect donations to buy the plot of land for the temple.....
But,as what some greedy humans do,mr rajen had some other selfish ideas,in which,he used the money to renovate his house in bukit tembok, and to buy a car......
this guy was actually a poor fella who worked as a security guard in klia...both he and his wife are hated by the devotee's visiting the temple because they tend to be arrogant, and always demanding for donations.....
even once, there was a time when these two fools sold ghee lamps for rm 10,and forbid devotees from bringing their own ghee lamp.....
they even said that you can "automatically" become the AJK of the temple management by paying RM10k......
just too many things to list...as i said,if you are from seremban, you will know a lot of truth....
by the way,i didnt mean to spread rumours, just want to warn devotees, not to blindly donate to temple committees, coz u only make them richer ;) hahaha....
p/s sorry for my broken english, had to type fast, and i regret making these grammatical errors as i am a tesl student myself...LoL
take care n bless it be....
Dear Shri,
The source of the information that I've written about this temple is from the temple. Therefore there will be no changes. Also this is a site for spiritual exchange. This does not mean a restriction of views, but the message should be diplomatic. Thanks.
Rajen said to Shri
No thanks to your RUMOURS that you are spreading.
1.The temple land is 81 acres and does not belong to RB Land but is with the bank is going for auction next month for RM 6,500,000 [6.5 million]the last auction was on 23/10/08 for RM 8.9 Million. so now the temple committee is trying to buy the whole 81 acres for the indians in this country. Donations can be made by cek to PERSATUAN PENGANUT DEVI ARULMIGHU MAHA SAPTHAKANNIGA or to the PUBLIC BANK A/C NO : 3128380309
2. U are wrong in spreading bad rumours about me because u no nothing about me....
I am Rajendran, 51 years old and am taking care of the temple for past 30 years. now am still working in KLIA and my pay is RM 2,600.00 and my wife is also working. Her pay is RM1,200 My house in Bukit tembok is my hard earned money. I also have 2 car [proton eswara 1987 model and mivy 2008 model and a ex5 motor] ALL MY HARD EARNED MONEY AND NOT YOURS
3.I am not a poor fella but from a family of 4 teachers and many acres of land and u have no right in talking bad about me, and am very angry with you.
4.Ghee lamps are sold at RM 3.00 small and RM 11.00 big with archina for Sivan poojas. Devotees can and always bring their own lamps
5.There is no such thing as automatic members. The regester does not allow that.
MR. KUMARESH BATUMALAI is doing a wonderful work through this blog and u please dont spoil it.
U have to pay for all your nasty words by telling people not to donate to the temple to buy the land, and i hope indians who see this blog will not trust u and am sure that the Maha Sapthakanni and the Naga Amma will punish you
Vanakkam,
As this exchange is getting heated, I would like to reiterate that any communication should be done diplomatically. Abuse of this will only result in a boomerang effect. Also, I'm sure that if a healthy discussion is conducted, both parties will be satisfied.
OM SAKTHI,I stay in Seremban and i know the Temple is very powerful in spritual and i also have many experences to share as i go up the temple always and the place is so peaceful and do meditation and the aman is so beauful and always feel the movement around the temple. Some times i could hear the Sapthakanni talking, singing and laughing. During the day time u can see the Aman in the form of Nagaamma, if u are lucky but it is very scary also. I pray to nagaamma by doing milk abshegam every week, and put alot of colourful flowers and as a Prasakthi devotee i take pall kodam during the festival and i get my wishes done most of the time.
Thanks for the wonderfull post. I have used this usefull information of yours on my blog http://hill-temples.blogspot.com/2009/10/arulmigu-maha-sapthakannika-devi-kovil.html. Thanks for the same.
I am from Seremban and have been to the temple several times by foot and also by 4 wheel. Its one of the most interesting places to visit in Seremban and the temple is indeed powerful in the sense that it gives peace and love to all that come to pray sincerely.
i love indian temples! seremban rocks
Vanakkam, Kanni Koil [Sapthakanniga Devi Temple] has the land problem. The Hill is 81 acres and is going for auction for RM 8,500,000.00.The price is considered very cheap and those Indians out there who have any extra cash can buy the property and build a ashramam for medetation and also can save the Sapthakanniga Devi Temple, Nandri
this is a very beautiful temple in seremban. i have been to it
It was 9:30 a.m. today, and I was in Seremban back from work. (Cyberjaya)
My origin is Port Dickson. I have heard of this Temple situated on the hill. But, I've never been there of this many years.
I wanted to go Jusco this morning and found that I arrived early before the mall even opens. And of sudden, the temple triggered my mind. It was actually not even in my visit list at all.
So, I called in my friend for the direction. and he guided me over the phone. The moment i reached the entrance. I was like "Awwwhh" .. the road up to hill was kind of Extreme !! .. People using 4x4 wouldn't have any issue 1 .. but for normal cars .. hurmm, think about it twice la k..
But, that didn't stopped me. I proceed to naik jer .. the hill was steep, very nature incline (you know what i mean), monkeys and etc..
As i was reaching the top, I find nobody was there except for myself & the monkeys. The wind was blowing so cool and it was silent (the sacred silent i mean). Yes, I am serious. You can really feel the presence of high sacred vibration. The place is ALIVE.
When i entered into the temple, i noticed many snake carved deities. (Cobra) .. with me alone in that place, no sound .. nothing .. just me and the place .. it was WoW .. the 7 Angel deities was beautiful. I bowed down to express my respectful obeisances to them and sat there for a while.
After a while, I felt it was times up. And i moved out from the place. I notified my mom of the tour which I had this morning. On her face, I could notice that she's being surprised to listen that. And i asked, "Why are you looking surprised when I told this?"
She said, I dreamed the exact thing last night. Of someone bringing you to a temple on top of a hill. And it matches the situation which you've told me. Almost 90% of it are all match.
Ok people - I have nothing much to say further. The temple vibration is very powerful. It is a must for all to pay a visit.
Thank you ..
Vicknes
sir ., my name ravi .,
my astrology saying ...i have naga dhosam . can come this temple to do prayers .and please tell me how long need to prayers .. i staying kl .
Hi Ravi,
I've been told that those who have naga dosham, should pray regularly to Nagamman. There are many temples for Nagamma, in Bangsar, Muar, Seremban and Ipoh. Also, there are shrines for nagaraja and nagamman in most Hindu temples. Beneficial prayers will be during rahu kalaam puja, and if you're working like most of us, you can attend during Sunday. But also remeber, good deeds will also reduce negative karma, i.e. helping poor Tamil schools, orphanages, animal shelters. Thanks.
Mr. Kumaresan .,
can i know that differn by kala sarpa dhosam and naga dhosam ?
if not mistaken, kala sarpa dosham is when all 5 planets are hemmed in between rahu and kethu. but you had better check with a qualified astrologer.
I'm fascinated bout his temple. May i inquire what are the best time to visit to offer prayers? What time does the temple opens and closes for devotees?
The best would be to call the temple Chairman, or visit the temple website. But i think its better you call to get the directions.
im suffering without money.i dont even have money to do my marrigae with lots of debts as a girl...will i get blessing and turn point in my life after going to the temple?:(
I empathise with your situation. If I were you, I would analyse my astrological chart carefully, as well as all defects in my life. Then I would pray to my ishta deivam/kula deivam to nullify my life’s shortcomings. It may take months, or years. Once you allow spiritual energy to flourish in your life, it is worth it.
Vanakkam
I been this temple since childhood time but still remember our 7 kanni amman,I'm only register since 5 years before but still not married...Some people said maybe Naga dhosam...but i did some poojai..cant solve the problem...I prefer to came Sapthakaanika Amman temple...to received Our Amman blessing...Hope Asap...Om Sakthi
:(

the map direction in google maps is entirely wrong and secondly, there is no signboard to make u turn. please management come down from the hill and get the share location or gprs coordinates then post it in the website. if you get it from top of the hill sometimes it will go wrong. seriously get this done coz its really difficult to find considering alot ways to get into seremban 2
It is getting a tad difficult to visit this temple, as the route has changed several times. Anyways try calling the chairman at 0196209259
Awesome blog on astrology thanks for share … Nice Post !! your writing skills is very unique and informative..Keep updating more information from your blog...I will be waiting for your next post...Famous Astrologer in Sydney | Astrologer Services in Sydney | Indian Astrologer in Sydney
my children have kalasarpa dosham and before one of my daughter get married i understand they have to do the paligaram..can someone inform me
Perhaps you can consult an astrologer. The other obvious pariharam to do is participate in puja conducted at nagaamman, naga kanni, nagaraja shrines and temples.
Vanakkam
Can anyone suggest places to stay nearby this temple?
One bus ppl?
There are hotels in Seremban. But there's no bus service up the hill. If you're going up, pls go up in a car suitable for hilly terrain.
Is Saptha kanni and saptha mathar is the same..?
how do i come there if i take KTM ayyah?
From what I know there isnt any bus service around the temple, perhaps at the bottom of the hill. Perhaps you can contact the temple management for the best route.
